My Ben Nevis trip begins

Hi All

My Ben Nevis trip is on its way now my first stop is Gatwick airport for a plane to Glasgow.

A quick drink before l board the plane and say goodbye to everyone.

Had a nice stay in a hotel in Glasgow city centre and a great breakfast.

Morning All

I’m now at the train station in Glasgow ready to board my train for Fort William and to book in to my Hotel Strathmore Hotel Ben Nevis .

My journey on the train and the views and scenery were just Spectacular.

My Adventure is well on its way now and what a great few days I’m in for.
I have just done some training on an icy slope with ice axe and crampons

My daily diary of my Everest Adventure

While away on my trip to the Everest Base Camp, l had a little time to record the events of my trip in a diary which i am please to say you will all be able to view.

I have tried to add as much of my trip and how the whole adventure affected me and my fellow trip companions. Also how l felt being away from my family.

Just getting ready to take on last 20 mile.
left knee giving me a bit of trouble but hey NO PAIN NO GAIN .

Well everyone I can officially say that I am now on taper.
Taper is when you start to wind down the mileage towards the MAIN EVENT as it is now only 3 weeks away and it couldn’t come quick enough.
If I am honest it really is just about getting to the finish line this time.
It has been 7 years since I ran a full marathon and anyone that says that it is easy is dreaming.
I have an amazing support team but they know how I have found it this time the has been alot of pain and tears on the way.
I can honestly say that I dread swinging my legs out of bed every morning at the moment not knowing how they will feel but in strange way I thrive on it as I know what it feels like to go over the finish line after 26.2 miles.
I don’t think there is any feel like it. It is pure adrenalin. I recommend you try it even a 5k parkrun is a great feeling

Bath Half Marathon

My Bath Half Marathon

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who supported me I know you have had to wait a while as you all helped raise over
£2600 for crohns and colitis UK last year but the weather put pay to that by the way of a huge amount of snow.

But I am here now on a beautiful morning in Bath to fulfil my promise to Carol.

Also thanks to my amazing family for their support and encouragement as I couldn’t do I without them also thank you to my physio Gretchen Heard for helping to keep me in one piece. X x
